The Maldives is not one destination. It is more than 1,000 islands spread across 26 atolls, with resorts ranging from genuinely worth the rate to overpriced and underwhelming. The photographs look similar. The experiences are not.
My job is to know which resorts deliver on what they promise, which atolls suit which kind of traveler, and how to get you there without a travel day that undoes the first two nights of your trip.

What I Plan in the Maldives.
Every Maldives trip I design is built around the specific way my client wants to experience the destination. That means some trips are pure resort immersion, a single property, overwater villa, house reef, and nowhere you need to be. Others include island hopping, dive itineraries, sunset fishing, private sandbank dinners, and spa days built around the tide schedule.
I handle the flight routing (Male is a long way from South Dakota), the seaplane or speedboat transfers between islands, resort selection, villa category, and all the small logistics that determine whether the Maldives feels like the most beautiful place you have ever been or like a very expensive trip you are glad is over.

The Maldives has a handful of properties that consistently deliver at the highest level and a much longer list of properties that look perfect in marketing and fall short in practice. I work within the tier that holds up.
That includes properties across the North Male, South Male, Baa, and Lhaviyani atolls, each with a different character, reef quality, transfer distance from Male airport, and style of service. The right one depends on what you are there for.

My Maldives clients are typically celebrating something, a honeymoon, a milestone anniversary, a significant birthday, or simply at a point in life where they have earned the right to disappear somewhere extraordinary for a week.
Combining Destinations
Combining the Maldives with Other Destinations.
Many of my clients pair the Maldives with a city stop in Dubai, Singapore, or Sri Lanka on the way there or back. The routing often works naturally and turns a long flight into part of the experience. I design these combinations regularly and I know which pairings hold up over the full length of the trip.
