Jamaica Before Christmas: Why a November Luxury Resort Trip Beats July
I've been to Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Jamaica. I know what it looks like in November when most of the travel industry has shifted its attention to Christmas markets and ski packages and written the Caribbean off as a summer destination.
That assumption is wrong.

What Seven Mile Beach Actually Looks Like in November
The water temperature in November ranges from the low to mid 80s Fahrenheit. Same as July. That's the starting point.
What changes after Labor Day is everything around the water. Jamaica's trade winds settle in more consistently from October through December. The mornings on Seven Mile Beach in Negril are cooler. The evenings are the kind of Caribbean evenings people describe when they tell you Jamaica surprised them.
For couples who want the Caribbean beach experience without the July volume, November and December are not the compromise. They're the preference. The couples who know, go in November.

What About Hurricane Season?

I watch the National Hurricane Center outlook as your dates get close, I recommend travel insurance with Cancel For Any Reason coverage for any fall booking, and you'll know the resort's hurricane policy before you pay a deposit. December sits outside the season entirely, so if the worry is real for you, that's the window I'd point you to.
Beyond the weather question, the fall timing question is really a crowd question. Couples who've done Jamaica in both summer and November tell me consistently that November is better. The beach belongs to the people on it. The restaurants aren't full by 6 PM. The resort staff have time for you.
