Custom Itineraries

Custom luxury itineraries, built from a blank page.

A custom luxury itinerary starts with you, not a brochure. Where you've always wanted to go, how fast you like to move, the kind of hotel you sleep best in, and the one day of the trip that has to be perfect.

I build the whole route. Flights, hotels, private drivers and guides, the restaurant reservations and the free afternoons. You get one document with everything in it, and my direct number for the whole trip.

I build trips slow, two or three bases instead of a new hotel every night.

What I build

Europe

Italy, Greece, France, Ireland and Iceland, built around two or three bases instead of a new hotel every night. I've completed specialist training for Italy and Greece, and I've planned family trips to Ireland, including guests traveling for a wedding at the Cliffs of Moher.

Asia and beyond

Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Bali, routed by season. I vet hotels there through partners I trust, and I'll tell you how each one was checked.

Mixing it up

A custom trip can include a few nights on a river ship, a villa week or a resort at the end. I build split stays like that all the time.

How it works

We talk first, about the occasion, who's going and what you've loved and hated on past trips. Then I build a proposal, and we adjust it together until it's right.

I'm an Avanti Certified Expert, and I work with Classic Vacations and other partners I'm certified with to put the pieces together. My planning fee covers the design work, and I'll explain it on our first call.

Is a custom itinerary right for you?

It fits you if

  • You know where you want to go, or at least the feeling you want.
  • You want private guides and drivers, not a tour bus.
  • You want someone else to hold all the details.

It's not the best fit if

  • You'd rather follow a set group itinerary. A guided tour fits better.
  • You want one resort and no moving around. An all-inclusive fits better.

Questions

Questions I get asked

May, June, September and October have the best mix of weather and fewer crowds. July and August are busy and hot in the south.

Travelers with a clear idea of what they want and no interest in squeezing into someone else's schedule. Couples, families and milestone trips.

Anyone who'd rather not make choices at all. A guided tour or a resort week takes more off your plate.

Booking sites sell you pieces. I put them together, check that the timing actually works and fix things when they don't, at 2 a.m. if I have to.

Fewer stops. Two nights in a place is a visit. Three or four is when it starts to feel like yours.

Ten to fourteen nights for Europe or Asia, so the long flights are worth it.

Six to nine months for most trips. Nine to twelve for summer in Europe or anything with a hotel that only has a few suites.

It depends on the destination, the hotels and the private guides. I quote each trip directly, and my planning fee is explained up front.

You'll connect through a hub like Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver or Dallas, then fly overnight. I time the flights so your first day is easy.

Tell me the trip you keep putting off. I'll build it from a blank page.

I reply within one business day.
